Good, clean and abundant water supply is required in order to keep ideal blood level of animals, to facilitate the transition of nutrients to the intestinal canal, to provide the needs of tissues and to maintain digestive and metabolic activities regularly. The problems encountered in the content of a quality water supply, its placement in the facilities and possible deficiency are as follows:
Water is a necessity for calves to grow. It has been observed that the food intake of calves deprived of fresh water has decreased by 31% and their body weight gain has decreased by 38% compared to calves drinking normal water. The most obvious indicators of insufficient and poor water intake in calves are diarrhea, deterioration in the digestive system, a weakened immune system, decrease in the amount of milk and the efficiency of food eaten, and nutritional deficiency. Approximately 87% of milk is also water. Animals need high quality and clean water to maintain their metabolic activities.

The most important need and food for farm animals is water.SANTAŞ

Water requirement varies based on the amount of production. Depending on the milk taken from dairy cows, they should drink 4-5 litres water per kilogram. For instance, whereas a dairy cow giving 27 kg milk should drink roughly 95-115 litres of water daily, dairy cow in the dry period should drink 28-57 litres of water daily.
Ambient temperature and humidity increase the water demand significantly. Cows in heat-stressed farms at 21°C or lower and cattles in areas with higher temperature and humidity need 1.5 – 2 times more water than others.
Reaching to watering bowl and time of watering are important. Watering bowl must be easily reachable and less than 15 meters from the feeding ground. In addition, it must be of a size that caters for the needs of all cows in there. For this reason, there is always a need for water tank in case of running out of water. Dairy cows consume approximately 50-60% of the water they need after milking. So, the importance of regular and clean water is obvious. In addition to all these, it is known that cleaning water tanks at least once a week has an effect on milk production.
Effects of lack of water in dairy cows are as follows;

  • Decline in health and productivity
  • Digestive troubles and diarrhea
  • Deterioration of heifer or dry cow’s health
  • Drinking bad water

Knowing that water is the most basic need for farm animals, we offer our flexible water tanks for you. The farms are generally located in rural areas due to the new urbanization project. That’s why, it also makes water supply difficult in terms of transportation and cost. Depending on your needs, our flexible water tanks serve you as both drinking water and domestic water for clean water supply. They are quite favorable for stockfarming thanks to being foldable when empty, no affect by bad weather conditions, odour-free and algae-free.
